I am a third year undergraduate student pursing a degree in Management Information Systems at the University of Minnesota, Curtis L. Carlson School of Management. Being a technologist at heart, I hold a passion for connecting the human element of business with that of bits and bytes. Furthermore, as an ENTJ personality type, I find much of my energy through working with and leading people while constantly identifying opportunities for innovation.

    Following the success of my internship with Cargill during Summer 2011, I was offered and accepted a return twelve-week information technology internship that will begin in June 2012.


    Business Intelligence InternMay 2011 - Aug. 2011

    I collaborated with a team of three interns to conduct a twelve-week usability study on the SAP business intelligence reporting environment for three company business units. After soliciting, collecting, and analyzing feedback from business intelligence end users, our team constructed a list of recommendations to improve the SAP reporting toolset.

    While conducting the usability study, I managed the intern team's development of an SAP front-end reporting solution that would simplify and automate the generation process for business intelligence usage statistics.

    Through in-class engagement and after-class office hours, I aid Assistant Professor Yuqing Ren in enabling student comprehension and learning of introductory MIS course material. I hold additional weekly administrative and grading responsibilities to ensure class efficiency and success.

    I acted as the external point of contact to existing and prospective customers; all service, scheduling, and invoice inquiries were routed to my desk. Furthermore, I assisted sales personnel and greatly systematized existing company protocol - enabling a rise in both per customer sales and overall volume that ultimately resulted in an increase in annual revenue by 16%.

    Supplementing my systematization and sales work, I managed the creation and deployment of effective direct response marketing campaigns throughout the greater Lake Minnetonka region. Additionally, I created a thorough education program to assist future employees in understanding the key processes and functions of the organization.

    I was selected to represent the University of Minnesota and compete against nine of the United States' strongest MIS case competition teams at the 2012 CoMIS Case Competition. CoMIS is an annual MIS case competition event hosted by the University of Minnesota, Curtis L. Carlson School of Management.

    I was selected to represent the University of Minnesota and compete against fifteen of the world's best MIS case competition teams at the 2012 CaseIT MIS Case Competition in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. CaseIT, hosted by the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University, is North America’s largest and the world’s most prestigious MIS case competition event.

  • 2011 Target Case CompetitionDec. 2011

    I competed with four fellow Curtis L. Carlson School of Management undergraduate students at the Target Case Competition, placing second out of eighty-six teams. We developed and presented a marketing-centric business plan focused on aiding Target find new and creative opportunities within the digital music space.

  • 2011 Boston Scientific Case CompetitionOct. 2011

    I competed with three fellow Curtis L. Carlson School of Management MIS undergraduate students at the Boston Scientific Case Competition, placing second out of sixteen teams. We developed and presented a business plan focused on aiding Boston Scientific overcome user privilege management issues during the company's cut-over to the Windows 7 OS platform.
